About us - what we believe
That is what our life in community is about….together we reveal the face of God to the world - Henri Nouwen
'This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you' - John 15v12
At Great Shelford Free Church we are a welcoming, loving and generous church family, committed to exploring who we are in God and how this can shape our lives and community. We are all different, but share in our love of God and desire to know Him more.
We are a church that seeks to explore new ways of living - challenging ourselves and each other - seeking out truth over tradition, whilst always being mindful of the love of Christ Jesus for ourselves and others. At the centre of this must be authenticity and vulnerability, grace and humility.
We prioritise meeting together on Sundays and other times of the week. Our Sunday morning service is a mix of lively and contemplative, traditional and contemporary teaching and worship. We have groups on Sunday and throughout the week for children which are fun, creative and nurturing.
Many in our church attend weekly homegroups where we spend time digging deeper into our faith and the bible whilst standing by each other in life's ups and downs. In meeting together in these different ways we make ourselves available to each other and to be supported and challenged, however, we want to be loving and generous both inside and outside the church community.
We would love to welcome you to any of our gatherings, as we seek to learn to be more like Christ.
