Partnership with Cara Coffee
The word 'Cara' is the Gaelic word for friend and Latin for beloved. We chose this word because it speaks of the partnership between Romsey Mill and Great Shelford Free Church: two organisations working together to serve the local community and offer space for friendships to grow. This partnership revolves around our shared commitment to the love of Jesus and our desire to practically show what that means to the community.
Cara Coffee is a social enterprise that is seeking to provide good coffee that does good (as well as other drinks and food!) All the profits from Cara Coffee will go towards the ongoing work of Romsey Mill in the local community. Cara Coffee will be managed by Romsey Mill staff but run by volunteers, so there are plenty of opportunities for anyone to get involved in helping us do good for the village of Great Shelford and the surrounding area.
If you are interested in volunteering - please contact - Julie Whitbread, Coffee Shop Manager - Julie.Whitbread@romseymill.org
Opening Hours: Tuesday - Friday 9.00am - 4.00pm
Saturdays 9.00am - 12.00pm
Meet the Partners
Romsey Mill is a charity committed to overcoming disadvantage, challenging injustice and promoting social inclusion with young people, children and families. Each year, we work with over 2,000 individuals and families, from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Our work is long term, relational and needs-led. We work with participants to develop their skills and to enable thier progress towards training, work and positive involvement in the community.
Great Shelford Free Church is a welcoming, loving and generous church family, committed to exploring who we are in God and how this can shape our lives and community. We are all different, but share in our love of God and desire to know Him more. We are a church that seeks to explore new ways of living - challenging ourselves and each other - seeking out truth over tradition, whilst always being mindful of the love of Christ Jesus for ourselves and others. At the center of this must be authenticity and and vulnerability, grace and humility.
