Why not believe? In Acts 26 Paul faces another cross-examination this time from King Agrippa and the Roman Governor, Festus. They both confirm that Paul is not breaking the law or doing anything deserving punishment, but they cut short Paul’s witness rather than facing up to the decision they both should make to respond to Jesus. In this study we consider Paul’s evidence and the message he has declared ever since meeting Jesus on the Damascus Road. What is our response?

You can’t please everybody all of the time, so whose opinion really matters? Paul has faced a series of accusations in front of a series of different judges, from the crowd in the temple to the Roman Governor and now the king. In this study we look at what he is accused of this time, how he responds, and we learn Who matters when it comes to the crunch.

Is marriage Biblical? Does the Bible teach one man: one woman? Were all men in the Old Testament polygamists? In this special edition of Roots and Shoots we look at these important questions to find out what the Bible teaches and how we should live.

Leaving things till later is something we all do, but there’s one situation where putting off a decision can have eternal consequences. The Roman Governor, Felix, finds this out to his cost in our study passage, Acts 24. He doesn’t make a decision about whether or not Paul is guilty, but then puts off the decision he has to face when Paul’s message makes him afraid.

How does God keep His promises? The Apostle Paul finds himself impossibly trapped and with little hope of escape, yet God has promised he will go to Rome and continue to witness for Christ. How does this happen? And what means does God use to keep Paul safe and active in his witness?

Should I turn the other cheek? Jesus said so, but what does this mean in practice? In this study we find the Apostle Paul facing the Sanhedrin and the High Priest commands that he should be slapped in the face! How does he respond? And what can we learn to help us follow the teachings of Jesus?

Whose approval matters? Paul faces the mob that has just tried to kill him. Does he try to pacify them and tell them things that will calm them down, or does he testify to God’s work in his life? In this study, based on Acts 22 v 1-21, we examine how Paul responds to his would-be murderers and ask whether we ourselves would rather please men or God.
